The importance of user friendly phones

User friendly phone systems are the only way to go for any sized business. In a perfect world your business would never even notice the phone system is there because everything is seamless and works exactly as it should. It's when you have to call your technician or you drop a call and hang up on someone accidentally that you really "feel" your phone system. So the goal is really for a business to never "feel" it's phone systems.

Business PBX phone systems fail their businesses when they are not user friendly. It creates a situation where receptionists become inefficient, calls get mishandled, and nothing ever works the way you want it to due to a lack of good old simplicity and user friendliness. Too many PBX and IP PBX manufacturers strive to develop phone systems that are designed to be supported by a local dealer. They do this and thus create PBX phone systems for the dealer network, not solely the end-user in mind. So they build a system that requires dealer certification training to successfuly manage to keep their dealers happy as they get to sell big maintenance contracts. I digress.

The phone system market is changing for the better. Out with the old, in with the new. Avoid the big brand name proprietary phone system that will require maintenance. Make sure you test drive the systems and talk to existing business customers who have used the phone system for a while.
