Don't rush when shopping phone systems

I've seen many businesses approach their telecommunications purchases as more of a chore that needs to be "gotten out of the way" than a methodical buying decision. A business will be opening up it's doors, or opening up a new branch, and cram whatever PBX or other phone system they can get in there to meet their deadline. Often businesses begin the telecommunications process too late, and give themselves an even smaller window. This creates a rushed decision where the buyer is justifying a purchase based on wanting a quick fix that seems it will get the job done.

Needless to say, making a rush decision on your telecommunications infrastructure and PBX telephone systems is a very big mistake. You're going to want to hold on to your phone system for many years of valuable use. Phone systems are not something we shop very often for, and when we do, we must take our time, do our homework, test drive various systems, and make a decision based on what makes the most sense not only for now, but 3 years from now when your company has a different face.

With the emergence of Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology, the buying process has become slightly more complicated. You can ease this VoIP mystery by finding a phone system company that provides both VoIP phone systems and PBX phone systems. A company who is an expert in both types of phone systems will know which will suit your sized company best.
