Born into Voice Over IP?

Shopping business phone systems can be a daunting task. You talk to multiple phone system vendors who all claim to offer the same thing, and just try to beat each other on price. "We do the same thing, for less!" This is something you will hear a PBX vendor say when negotiating a sale. It's quite pathetic really, all these PBX vendors selling on price as their whole entire focus. So now that everyone is focused on price, the focus has been taken off of the real important factors.

If a company is touting a Voice Over IP (VoIP) phone system based on how much money it's going to save you, then you want to be sure that you are not saving money to receive sub par service. The real question is: Was this phone system company born into VoIP or did it just try and transition over to VoIP to ride the wave. Voice Over IP technology requires a completely different skill set than traditional PBX phone system technology. Traditional PBX phone system technology has nothing at all to do with the internet. Voice Over IP phone systems are designed to run primarily on the internet which creates an entirely different spectrum of problems.

To best deal with these problems you must work with a company that was born into Voice Over IP. A company whose VoIP technology has been 100% designed from the beginning as a Voice Over IP solution, as opposed to a company whose VoIP technology who has simply taken their old product, and slapped some VoIP features on top of it. You will be much happier with your VoIP phone system if you go with a company that was born into VoIP!
